Today, I went to deal with an agent for one vacant land property and that was came under the TDR, Lets see how it's work Transferable development rights (TDR) is a step taken by the State Government to ease congestion problems in the city. TDR envisages permitting an additional floor area ratio (FAR) to owners of land acquired for road widening. With TDR, the city corporations are empowered to relax building bye-laws to benefit property owners. In case an owner gives up his vacant land voluntarily, instead of compensation, he will be given an additional FAR that will be 1.5 times the size of the plot. The FAR can be used either by the owner to extend his building or can be traded for a price. A Development Rights Certificate (DRC) will be issued to the property owner.
